A 52 Parts Telefilm Series on Development NGOs for Doordarshan International (2001-2003)
A 52 part series on grass-root groups and non-governmental organizations working in isolated rural areas, promoting innovative strategies for sustainable development, sensitive to local cultural and social contexts of marginalised population groups was made for the international channel of the Indian national television, “Doordarshan International”. The accolades won by this series of telefilms have been especially gratifying since it brought forward so many unknown and forgotten activists and organizations, who have been working for years in isolated and inaccessible areas of India.
Arun's wife Vineeta had anchored most of the episodes of this serial.
The first series of 26 films was broadcast on Doordarshan International, Indian state TV during 2001-02 and the second series of 26 films was broadcast during 2002-03. Some stills from this TV series are presented here:
